Release Notes

This is the stable and feature complete release of version 4.2. It has a small lack in documentation for the new features. We will deliver it as soon as possible.

What's new?

  • Gripper-Loom.NET is now stable
  • Improved aspect instantiation for both weavers. Aspects are now created directly and not via Clone() or MemberwiseClone().
  • New aspect instantiation kind: Per.InstanceAndAnnotation
  • aspects can now be configured in the app.config file (Rapier-Loom) and applied to any target class via a xml configuration (both weavers)
  • Several bugfixes

Reviews for this release

In searching through many aspect oriented frameworks, I stumbled across this little gem. It is a surprisingly capable framework, supporting both static and dynamic weaving with only minor differences in code. The API is flexible and well-designed - allowing you to implement aspects however you want. It was easy to install and use. The examples are good and useful. Best of all, it worked straight out of the box - many other aspect frameworks do not.

NOTE: Since posting this a few weeks ago, I decided to join the team. Otherwise it would be bad form to rate one's own work!
